On May 1st and 2nd, Nashville, Tennessee received a record amount of rain—nearly 13.5 inches.
By May 3rd, huge portions of our city were under water, including the The Grand Ole Opry, Opryland, The Nashville Symphony Hall, the downtown area, and countless homes. Families, many of whom did not have flood insurance, have lost everything. One of the hydro plants is flooded, which means we’re running short on water. Many lives have been extinguished and more bodies are being recovered each day.
Our city is drowning. Will you help us?

It is so awesome that you're doing this. My heart goes out to you all, and I'll help spread the word as much as I can.
ReplyDeleteIf there's anything we can do, we're doing it! I'm making this our Thoughtful Thursday post on Mundie Moms (on Thursday)
ReplyDeleteI'm tweeting...you guys rock for doing this.
ReplyDeleteI was at one of Gretchen Wilson's tables at Bourbon St. Blues 'n Boogie Bar on Fat Tuesday, 1999 (five years before her "overnight" success) and heard her sing with Stacy Mitchaart's band. Told her if there was any justice, she was going to be huge someday...
I've loved Nashville since I first set foot in it. Thanks again!
This is a great idea! I'll see what I can do to help. Or at least spread the word. You rock!
ReplyDeleteGosh! The oil spill is taking so much attention, I hardly registered how serious things were in Nashville. Thanks for doing this.

I send my prayers and best wishes to you all. I visited Nashville many years working Kevin Sharp's booth at Fan Fair and fell in love with the city, the people and traditions. Your great spirit will carry you out of this devastation and we, you friends, are going to lend our support and help along the way. Good luck with the auction. It's a great idea.
ReplyDeleteThere is certainly a great need. Can someone tell us, please, how the funds raised will be distributed? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for doing this! It's such a wonderful idea. My house was flooded in Nashville and the loss throughout the city is just heartbreaking. But, everyone is coming together and doing some wonderful things to support the victims. CFMT is a great organization to send donations. They will do the right thing with the money.
ReplyDeleteI have read your post in which I known about it and I am sad to known about such type of information which you offered here. I wish you persons of nashvile will be quite well early.
